Hi John,

Thanks for your comments. We did not use a specific template for designing the learning object, but followed the framework laid out in Dick and Carey's (1996) model (similar to that of software engineering). With the SME I went through all the phases of an iterative process including; identifying instructional goals, analyzing learners and contexts, developing instructional strategies, and designing and conducting a formative evaluation.

You may also want to take a look at our work using David Wiley's Learning Object Design and Sequencing (LODAS) Theory.

Hi Ferdinand,

Thanks for an interesting presentation and discussion of your phrarmacokinetic LO. It looks like a wonderful learning tool that has the potential to turn into a wonderful learning environment.

As an instructional designer and educational technology analyst, I am interested in the process of design. That is, did you use any templates or design framework for the actual design of the LO? Can you explain the process of designing the LO with the SME?

Thanks,
John
